Most companies tend to only promote their business using outbound marketing which is where they find their customers using advertisements, promotions and sales.
Inbound marketing is where the company focuses more on building a strong and trusting relationship with the customers. We all like to do business with people we know, like and trust. Benefits of using inbound marketing are: being able to create a more cost effective advertising campaign, build longer lasting relationships, and targeting the right set of customers.
There are main three stages in inbound marketing: Attract, engage, and delight.
Attract is where you create low cost ads and target the right set of customers where you can meet their specific needs. An example would be a relevant small social media ad that will draw them to go to your website. Once you attract you need to Engage with them through email, live chats or webinars to keep building that relationship. When you have done those two things, you can finish off with Delight by sending them added value. Whether that is sending your customers a promo code for your product or sending them "need to know" content for your industry you need to make sure that you are engaging with them and not spamming them.
Remember: Create trust in all communications that you send.
